Our non-contact position and liquid level sensors are particularly attractive for this type of application where grime, oil, mud, dust and jet washing can have an adverse affect on other types of sensor. Typically rated to IP67 and with no moving internal parts, these sensors are reliable, compact and durable - perfect for plant equipment where accurate monitoring of linear or rotary position or level is vital to the product's performance.

Transmission & Engine Oil Level Sensors

  

Gill oil level sensors are tried and tested in engine and transmission applications. The sensors use capacitive technology and have no moving parts – ideal for the harsh environments often encountered on plant and off-highway equipment. We provide two ranges of oil level sensor:

M-Series Oil Level Sensors
Custom level sensors designed to your requirements. Often requirements for plant and off-highway equipment require bespoke sensors to fit within tight space envelopes. We will design an oil level sensor to fit within your requirements so that you do not have to compromise your current component layout.

R-Series Oil Level Sensors
The R-Series sensor is our standard sensor design, with 5-bolt SAE flange design. This range is available at any custom length (to 1.5m) and is particularly suited to applications where the space envelope and mounting configurations are not as critical.

Diesel Level Sensors

  

Gill Diesel level sensors can be used with most types of diesel and heavy oil and can be designed to fit perfectly within your application. Depending on your tank size, we can manufacture sensors ranging from approximately 2cm to 1.5m so that the exact depth of the whole tank can be monitored. Gill diesel level sensors are available in two ranges:

M-Series Diesel Level Sensors
These diesel level sensors are designed to your exact application requirements. Whether you have a specific mounting arrangement, sealing method or other construction requirements we will design a sensor to meet your required specification.

R-Series Diesel Level Sensors
The R-Series diesel level sensor is the preferred choice for off-highway diesel applications. This sensor is generally available on a short lead-time and will be manufactured to your exact length requirements. The sensor is equipped with a standard 5-bolt SAE flange and fully integrated electronics.

Transmission Shift-Rail Position Sensors

This sensor was specifically designed to measure the position of a shift rail inside a construction vehicle gearbox. A combination of either two or three sensors is deployed on each transmission to detect the selection of up to five gears.

The customer integrates the sensor activator into their own selector fork design and with Gill supplying factory calibrated sensors, the need for any sensor set-up on the vehicle assembly line has been eliminated.

Linear & Rotary Position Sensors

  

We offer a range of 'standard' position sensor products for linear, rotary and angular measurements. All products are solid-state with no moving sensor parts - ideal for off-highway applications that are subject to grime, oil, dirt and jet washing.

Using the same patented induction technology, we can design bespoke position sensor products to meet your exact requirements. Application examples include non-contact brake-wear measurement and boom-and-bucket position measurement.
