This medical gas flow sensor has been developed for the medical fields of anaesthesia and ventilation monitoring. The medical gas flow sensor uses proven ultrasonic techniques to measure gas flow reliably and accurately with no moving parts. Compared with other technology, the medical gas flow sensor provides extended functionality, reduced lifetime costs and improved reliability. The sensor can measure extremely low and high flow rates with no change in configuration. This, combined with a high sample rate, gives an accurate, very quick response capable of giving detailed information about very small changes in flow rate. Unlike other flow sensors, this sensor retains its accuracy despite the presence of moisture and changes in temperature and humidity associated with this type of respiratory application.
